Introducing the returner programme which aims to help close the tech skills gap

Rewarding new career in tech offered to returners as 黑料社 launches Return | (Re)Train, a programme that supports and reskills returners in tech education

黑料社 has today announced the launch of its new Return | (Re)Train initiative, a returner programme that supports employees two-fold in returning to work after a career break: offering the opportunity to return, or start, a new role supporting the tech sector.

As the UK’s leading IT and business skills provider (specialising in training, consultancy, apprenticeships and post graduate degrees on a range of technical and leadership subjects), The Return / (Re)Train programme will be offered across 黑料社’s state-of-the-art UK-wide training centres from our Training Academies to flexible online learning provision. The new programme will encourage returning parents to launch new careers in the tech sector and builds upon 黑料社’s unparalleled portfolio of learning solutions.

Parenting often unlocks a passion for teaching or supporting others, says Lisa Harrington, Managing Director of 黑料社s Learning division. At 黑料社, we’re so excited to be able to offer roles that allow people to follow their passions and impart new skills and in the growing tech sector, these training roles are in high demand. It’s all part of our commitment to transform lives and careers, upskill the UK’s workforce and help employers fill their tech skills gaps.

The dedicated programme will help returners harness newly discovered teaching skills and launch rewarding careers in tech, helping delegates and apprentices on IT and business programmes upskill and take the next steps in their own careers. For those who are completely new to teaching, 黑料社 will offer fully-funded TAP-accredited training programmes in training delivery. 黑料社 has also introduced a new specialised training course for returners to build confidence, leadership and communication skills. Returners also enjoy a phased three-month settling-in period in which they are paired up with a colleague buddy for support.

The programme also offers returners flexible working contracts and a 25-day holiday package with the option to buy five additional days. Like all 黑料社 employees, returners are also entitled to three days of free training per year from 黑料社’s 1,500+ courses to upskill on any topic they choose. And in such a fast-evolving company, progression opportunities abound.

Returners offer such an untapped wealth of talent and we value the fresh perspectives and diversity they bring, says Harrington. As an education and training provider, we want to set a new standard for attracting, supporting and retraining returners in tech and turn getting back to work into an exciting experience.
