When you come to study with us, you receive in-depth advice and assistance with your career development. We want you to achieve your ambitions, make the most out of your experiences, develop your skills and to help you manage your future career.

What can you expect from your Student Futures and Careers Service?

Our Careers Service offers a wide range of support to help you throughout every step of your journey. We will ensure you are exposed to the best possible options for work-experience and career opportunities from your first year right through to graduation.

Many of our services can be tailored to suit your career path of choice. You can expect to receive bespoke support from our team, that reflects the style of interview and CV that is required for your route of choice.

The Student Futures and Careers team offer the following services:

1-2-1 Appointments

Our Career Consultants are here to offer you career guidance face-to-face and virtually. These flexible appointments can take place throughout the day or in the evenings and are designed to fit around your studies. Each appointment is completely bespoke, to suit your needs and the sector you are interested in.

Appointments can cover the following:

  • Career planning
  • CV writing
  • Cover letter and application reviews
  • Mock interviews
  • Enterprise activities
  • Psychometric test practices

During your time as a student and up to 2 years after graduation you have access to a variety of printed and online careers resources, including our digital platforms CareerSet and

Stay informed and inspired with our monthly careers newsletter, featuring the latest job opportunities, external events and careers fairs, plus a comprehensive workshop schedule showcasing the full range of sessions delivered by our expert careers team each month.

As a recent graduate you can continue to use the Student Futures and Careers Service for two years after completing your degree.

Our graduate support includes:

  • One-to-one career guidance with experienced careers advisors
  • LinkedIn profile reviews to enhance your professional online presence
  • Mock interviews to help you prepare and build confidence
  • CV and cover letter support to make your applications stand out
  • Careers and employability workshops to develop job-ready skills
  • Access to online tools including CareerSet and Shortlist.Me

The Graduate Outcomes survey is a UK-wide, national survey that collects information about what graduates are doing 15 months after they finish their higher education course. It gathers data on their employment status, further study, and other activities, as well as graduates’ perspectives on how their degree has helped them.

Why complete the survey

This information is used to inform current and future students, and to help universities and colleges improve their courses and services. It’s an opportunity to give feedback and have your voice heard, and it will take just 10 minutes of your time.

How to complete the survey

 (Higher Education Statistics Agency) and their contractors deliver the survey on behalf of UK universities.

Approximately 15 months after graduation you will receive an invitation to complete the survey through either:

Your Student Futures and Careers Team are on hand to help you throughout your career development journey, find out more about the team below.

Juliette Chase - Head of Careers

Juliette works alongside her team to provide careers and employability services across all campuses. Juliette has worked in various careers settings including at Roehampton ºÚÁÏÉç, where she set-up and ran the only faculty careers service in Law.

On joining ºÚÁÏÉç Higher Education in 2017 her first job was to set-up the service and build the team. Juliette is responsible for strategic developments of the service but still loves to work with students and help them achieve their career ambitions; as her team will testify, nothing pleases Juliette more than finding a rogue comma in an application form or CV.

Petya is the Senior Careers Manager for ºÚÁÏÉçHE working with students across our London, Manchester and Birmingham Campuses. She is responsible for delivering careers advice and guidance, and career development learning to students across university partnerships. Petya has more than 6 years of experience working in Higher Education, where she has worked with both Postgraduate and Undergraduate students. She has previous experience working with both students and employers in variety of roles for number of universities such as UCL and Liverpool John Moores. Petya enjoys working and supporting students with their careers journey, and is really keen to develop action plans to further support career development within learning and teaching for ºÚÁÏÉçHE.

Marija Photo

Marija works across all university partners. She engages with both students and employers to expand work opportunities and provide further knowledge about different sectors and career paths. She is managing the Advanced Practice internship option supports with internship search and module approval.

Marija has worked in higher education employability for over 7 years and also has experience in different sectors, which informs her work with students and employers. She is always happy to support students finding the right work opportunity to get closer to their desired career.

Kim is the Graduate Manager for ºÚÁÏÉçHE working with undergraduate and postgraduate students/graduates across London, Birmingham and Manchester. Kim is responsible for managing the graduate careers and employability support on offer to ºÚÁÏÉçHE graduates to ensure they secure their desired job. She has worked in careers and employability for almost 15 years and has spent the last 6 years working in higher education careers services. Kim is passionate about ensuring all students/graduates have access to high quality career advice and guidance, as well as empowering individuals to manage their careers so they thrive long after they have completed their degree.

With almost 10 years of experience in education Shirley has provided careers advice and guidance to students at A Level right through to post graduate study. She is passionate about helping individuals discover the right path for them based on their interests and passions.
From CV, cover letter, interview support and careers plans Shirley enjoys conversing with students to help them identify all of the experiences and skills which make them strong candidates for their ideal role.
She is passionate about making a positive impact in the lives of the students and graduates she supports and looks forward to supporting all graduates from ºÚÁÏÉç Higher Education.

Humera Aftab

Humera is a dedicated Careers Advisor with over three years of experience in Higher Education, supporting students in their career development and progression. She previously worked as a Job Coach, managing a caseload of jobseekers and providing intensive one-to-one support to help them overcome barriers to employment. This included tailored guidance on job searching, CV and cover letter writing, interview preparation, and job applications.

In her current role, Humera supports ºÚÁÏÉçHE students with career planning, helping them explore their options, identify strengths, and build the tools needed for success. She offers targeted advice and resources to enhance employability and empower students to take confident steps toward achieving their career goals.

With a wealth of experience Sara excels in guiding students towards meaningful career paths, offering invaluable insights into the evolving job market. Sarah’s passion lies in cultivating strong partnerships with employers, ensuring students have access to opportunities that align with their aspirations and the demands of the modern workforce. From helping craft compelling CVs and cover letters to targeted job searches and conducting thorough interview preparation, Sarah’s tailored approach is designed to empower individuals at every stage of their career advancement.

Offering personalised guidance, Armando supports students in overcoming employment barriers, applying expertise honed as an English for Academic Purposes tutor, an ESOL teacher, and a Community Training Coordinator. Passionate about student success, Armando is committed to empowering individuals, providing personalised assistance in CV and cover letter writing, job searching, and interview preparation, ensuring they not only secure employment but also realise their full potential in both academic and professional realms within a supportive framework.

Heidi is a dedicated Careers Advisor based at our Fitzwilliam campus, bringing a wealth of experience in career development and student support.
Heidi began her journey in school-based careers guidance, where she developed a strong foundation in supporting young people at key decision-making stages. She is now formally qualified in career development and has extensive experience working with students across schools, colleges, and higher education settings.
Passionate about empowering others, Heidi takes a student-centred approach, working closely with individuals to explore their aspirations and build clear, achievable career plans. She provides tailored support across all aspects of career readiness, including CV development, cover letter writing, and exploring progression opportunities.
Heidi is particularly committed to helping students build confidence. She offers practical strategies to strengthen communication skills and enhance interview performance, enabling students to present their best selves to employers and overcome their current barriers.

With expertise in mentoring, career planning and event coordination, she develops tailored strategies to support students success. She helps students build confidence, develop key skills and make informed decisions about their future. Committed to bridging the attainment gap in Higher Education, Anisa ensures that every student has access to the tools and guidance they need to thrive both academically and professionally.

Hilda Gyimah's picture

Hilda is passionate about supporting the development and growth of students. She has over 11 years of knowledge about the job market, recruitment process and guiding students in making informed decisions about their career options. Her powerful motivation is helping students navigate the complexities of the job market and get their desired job. Hilda achieves this by supporting students with CV and cover letter writing, interview preparation, job searching activities, scheduling 1:1 appointments and responding to any careers-related queries.

Muhammad is a Careers Advisor with over six years of experience across the voluntary sector, further, and higher education. Throughout his experience, Muhammad has enabled the progression of beneficiaries into meaningful, sustainable, and long-term employment. Based at our International House campus in London, Muhammad supports a diverse cohort of students with drafting CV’s, Cover Letters, preparing for an interview, and has delivered workshops aimed at building students’ confidence.
